Population Connection Action Fund Endorses Richard Blumenthal for United States Senate
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Oct. 21, 2015
WASHINGTON, DC – Population Connection Action Fund, the political arm of Population Connection announced today its endorsement of Richard Blumenthal for reelection to the United States Senate from Connecticut. Senator Blumenthal, a strong advocate for women’s reproductive health care and rights, earned a 100 percent score on the Action Fund’s 2015 Congressional Report Card.
“Population Connection Action Fund is proud to endorse Richard Blumenthal for reelection to the United States Senate,” said John Seager, president of Population Connection Action Fund. “Senator Blumenthal has stood up to protect women’s health at every turn, and for that we support him.”
Senator Blumenthal is a strong proponent for women and girls in the United States. He has proven to be a passionate pro-choice member of the Senate, having sponsored the Women’s Health Protection Act to safeguard a woman’s right to legal abortion and voted against a ban on safe abortion for trafficking victims. He is helping to lead the fight to expand access to reproductive health care to women in the poorest countries in the world and oppose efforts to eliminate health care from the millions of women who rely on Planned Parenthood clinics.
“We are excited to help one the most outspoken champions of family planning services and reproductive health for women around the world return for a second term in the United States Senate,” Seager said.
