Senate Republicans brought up a bill to attempt to strip Planned Parenthood of all federal funding. Population Connection Action Fund opposed the measure. It failed to achieve the 60 votes necessary for cloture, and was defeated 53-46.

Note: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, although supportive of the bill, switched his vote to "No" as part of a procedural move to allow him to reintroduce the measure at a later date.
