The Senate held a procedural vote on the misleadingly-named "Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act," which would have banned abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy with only very limited exceptions. Due to the nature of the vote, 60 votes were required for passage.
The House of Representatives previously passed their version of the bill in October 2017.
